RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1084 (Sponsor: Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, TO AUGMENT AND DOWNLOAD ADDITIONAL POLICE PERSONNEL TO THE PAGADIAN CITY POLICE STATION TO HELP IN THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST ALL FORMS OF CRIMINALITY" WHEREAS, the City of Pagadian, taking into consideration the influx of people brought about by its fast-growing economy aside from its present state as the Regional Center for the Zamboanga Peninsula Region, is confronted with serious concern relative to the issue on how effectively and efficiently the local police handles and maintains the city's peace and order vis-a-vis the present number of police force assigned in the Pagadian City Police Station; WHEREAS, currently, the Pagadian City Police Station is operating with a personnel complement of One Hundred Seventy-Seven (177) including the Chief of Police which number is obviously way below the ideal ratio per population of more than 220,000--based on the recent census conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)--spread all over the 54 barangays comprising the city; WHEREAS, it cannot be denied that the present number of police personnel and officers assigned in the city could hardly cope up in the campaign against all forms of criminality, maintain peace and order and ensure the safety of its inhabitants, such that the assignment and/or deployment of additional police personnel in Pagadian City Police Station will indispensably and certainly help in the planned sectoral operation of the city police force as a measure to enable the police to respond, resolve, and abate incidents of crime; WHEREAS, this body, taking into serious consideration the need to attain the ideal police-population ratio of 1 policeman for every 500 residents, finds it imperatively necessary to earnestly request no less than the President of the Republic of the Philippines to direct the PNP Chief to cause the augmentation and downloading of additional police personnel to the Pagadian City Police Station; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested His Excellency, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Republic of the Philippines, to augment and download additional police personnel to the Pagadian City Police Station to help in the campaign against all forms of criminality. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Excellency, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Republic of the Philippines, Malacanan Palace, Manila, for his favorable consideration; and to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S.
