RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1009 (Sponsored by: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER AND SIGN THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE PILIPINAS VISMIN SUPER CUP, REPRESENTED BY ITS CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER ROCKY ENGHUAT A. CHAN, WITH REFERENCE TO THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S PARTICIPATION TO THE INAUGURAL SEASON OF THE PILIPINAS VISMIN SUPER CUP-A REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT" WHEREAS, the Pilipinas Vismin Super Cup, a duly registered non-government organization and a regional professional basketball organizer, is scheduled to launch the inaugural season of basketball tournament where it has invited several basketball teams from the Visayas and Mindanao to join and participate in the said event; WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, consistent with its sports development programs, has signifies its intention and desire to participate in the said event as it is willing to organize a competitive basketball team who shall represent the City of Pagadian in the said tournament; WHEREAS, to ensure the effective and efficient conduct of the foregoing endeavor, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup is necessary where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified, such that the Honorable City Mayor has sought for legislative authority to sign the same for and in behalf of the City Government, which request merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup, represented by its Chief Operations Officer Rocky Enghuat A. Chan, with reference to the City Government's participation to the inaugural season of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup-a regional professional basketball tournament. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable City Mayor, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and to Mr. Rocky Enghuat A. Chan, Chief Operations Officer, Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup, at 934 C. Castaneda, Namayan, Mandaluyong City, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
