RESOLUTION NO. 2021-0984 (Sponsored by: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES, REPRESENTED BY HONORABLE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANT AND RELEASE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FIVE MILLION (P5,000,000.00) PESOS TO HELP ADDRESS THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE OF PAGADIAN CITY WHO ARE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE CORONA VIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19)" WHEREAS, pursuant to Article I, Section 25 (c) of Republic Act No. 7160, the Office of the President of the Philippines, through His Excellency, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, is granting financial assistance to concerned Local Government Unit affected by the health crises brought about by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19); WHEREAS, information has it that the City Government of Pagadian is a recipient of a Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Pesos financial assistance for use to cater and address the immediate needs of the people of the city who are directly affected by the COVID-19; WHEREAS, as a requisite for the release of such funds to facilitate the early and successful implementation of the foregoing program, the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Office of the President of the Philippines and the City Government of Pagadian is necessary such that, for the purpose, the Honorable City Mayor requested that he be accorded the necessary authority to sign such document for and in behalf of the City Government, which request is found urgent and most worthy of support, hence, the grant of the required authority is justified; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with Office of the President of the Philippines, represented by Honorable Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea, with reference to the grant and release of financial assistance in the total amount of Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Pesos to help address the immediate needs of the people of Pagadian City who are directly affected by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co for immediate favorable action; the City Legal Officer; and the Office of the President of the Philippines, through Honorable Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea, Malacanang Palace, J.P.
