RESOLUTION NO. 2021-0967 (Sponsored by: Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY AGRICULTURIST, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE BUREAU OF ANIMAL INDUSTRY (BAI), TO STRICTLY IMPLEMENT THE ORDER WHICH BANS, LIMITS AND/OR RESTRICTS THE ENTRY OF LIVE PIGS, PORK AND ITS OTHER RELATED PRODUCTS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN SPECIFICALLY FROM THE AREAS IDENTIFIED TO HAVE PREVALENT CASES OF AFRICAN SWINE FEVER (ASF) AS PROVIDED UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 22, SERIES OF 2020" WHEREAS, it is thus a fact that the continued threat of African Swine Fever (ASF) disease has pressed more worries not only to the pork meat consumers but more upon the swine/hog industry that was certainly distressed in supplying the needs of the populace; WHEREAS, the City of Pagadian-while still being spared from such disease-is now more vigorous in its effort to prevent the spread of such disease in the city such that the banning of entry of live pigs, pork meat and other related products from places identified to have cases of such disease is imperatively necessary; WHEREAS, premises considered, it is thus necessary to commission the City Agriculturist, in collaboration with the Bureau of Animal Industry, to strictly implement such regulation, hence, this request; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Ronald Christopher Glenn L. Ariosa, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Agriculturist, in collaboration with the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), to strictly implement the order which bans, limits and/or restricts the entry of live pigs, pork and its other related products in the City of Pagadian specifically from the areas identified to have prevalent cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) as provided under Administrative Order No. 22, series of 2020. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable action; to the City Agriculturist; and all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANINOUSLY.
