Gavenia "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ALLOCATE THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF TEN MILLION (P10,000,000.00) PESOS, OUT OF ANY AVAILABLE SAVINGS OR SURPLUS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2020, FOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TWO (2)-STOREY BUILDING OF THE PHILIPPINE POSTAL CORPORATION (PHILPOST) AT BARANGAY DAO, THIS CITY" WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, by virtue of Resolution No. 2021-0899 enacted by this august body during its 65th Regular Session held last 06 January 2021, formally offered to the Philippine Postal Corporation, in exchange for the lot presently utilized as its office site situated at Gatas District, the City Government-owned parcel of land containing an area of 751 square meters situated at Barangay Dao, this city, with a further commitment from the City Government of Pagadian to shoulder the construction of a Two (2)-Storey Building thereat for use as its permanent office; WHEREAS, in expressing support thereto, the Philippine Postal Corporation, by way of a letter from Postmaster General and CEO Joel L. Otarra, has sought for the allocation of the total amount of P10,000,000.00 for use in the construction of a Two (2)-Storey building of the PhilPost at Barangay Dao, this city--such that a request for authority to allocate the necessary funding has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of the foregoing project, this body, finding importance and urgency, deems it imperative to clothe the City Chief Executive with the necessary authority to allocate the requested amount out of any available savings or surplus of the City Government of Pagadian for CY-2020; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to allocate the total amount of Ten Million (P10,000,000.00) Pesos, out of any available savings or surplus of the City Government of Pagadian for Calendar Year 2020, for use in the construction of a Two (2) Storey Building of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHILPOST) at Barangay Dao, this city. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost) through its Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer Joel L. Otarra, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila; and all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANINOUSLY.
