RESOLUTION NO. 2021-0934 Sponsored by: Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH), THROUGH HONORABLE SECRETARY FRANCISCO T. DUQUE III, TO DESIGNATE AND ASSIGN AT LEAST TWO (2) MEDICAL DOCTORS/PRACTITIONERS UNDER THE DOH-DOCTORS TO THE BARRIO PROGRAM TO SERVE AND ATTEND TO THE MEDICAL NEEDS OF THOSE RESIDENTS LIVING IN THE GEOGRAPHICALLY ISOLATED AND DISADVANTAGED AREAS (GIDA) OF THE CITY" WHEREAS, consistent with the City Government's thrust and commitment to promote and provide better health services to all its constituents more particularly those residing in the identified Geographically Isolated And Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) or those in far-flung barangays where health services are most required considering that residents thereat are having difficulties in coming to the city proper just to avail of such medical treatment/attention; WHEREAS, considering the limited number of medical doctors employed by the City Government of Pagadian who shall be attending to at least 54 barangays of the city and, in pursuance to the mandate of the Local Government Unit to provide the necessary basic health services to all, it is but prim and proper to seek assistance from the national government through the Department of Health for the designation and assignment of at least two (2) medical doctors under the DOH-Doctors to the Barrio Program to the City of Pagadian , thus requesting the Honorable Secretary of the Department of Health is most imperative; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Priscilla M. Fernandez, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Department of Health, through Honorable Secretary Francisco T. Duque III, to designate and assign at least Two (2) Medical Doctors/Practitioners under the DOH-Doctors to the Barrio Program to serve and attend to the medical needs of those residents living in the Geographical Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) of the city. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, Francisco T. Duque III, Secretary, DOH, for his preferential attention and favorable action; to Regional Director Joshua G. Brillantes, MD, MPH, DOH-Regional Office IX, and to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S.
