RESOLUTION NO. 2021-0931 Sponsored by: Committee on Ways & Means) "A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY TREASURER IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OTHER CONCERNED CITY GOVERNMENT OFFICES TO INSTITUTE APPROPRIATE ACTION AGAINST ALL DELINQUENT REAL PROPERTY TAXPAYERS OF THE CITY PURSUANT TO SECTION 258 OF REPUBLIC ACT 7160 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF 1991"" WHEREAS, this august body was furnished with a copy of the lists of delinquent real property taxpayers of the City of Pagadian as of Calendar Year 2020 involving the total amount of Thirteen Million Eight Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-Five and 63/100 (P13,885,295.63) Pesos, for this body's information and appropriate consideration; WHEREAS, based on the recommendation of the Committee on Ways and Means, to which the foregoing concern was initially referred, the body, finding importance and urgency of the foregoing concern, deems it appropriate and in order to commission the City Treasurer, in collaboration with the other concerned city offices, to initiate the strict implementation of Section 258 of R.A. 7160 otherwise known as "the Local Government Code of 1991;" NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Troy B. Asugas, be it RESOLVED to recommend, as this body hereby recommends to the Honorable City Mayor to direct the Office of the City Assessor in collaboration with the other concerned City Government offices to institute appropriate action against all delinquent real property taxpayers of the city pursuant to Section 258 of Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as "The Local Government Code of 1991." RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action; the City Treasurer and other concerned offices, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANINOUSLY.
