A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BENIGNO AQUINO STREET FROM JUNCTION V. SAGUN STREET UP TO P.L. URRO STREET (PARTICULARLY THE PORTION FRONTING THE CITY HALL COMPLEX), FOR THE SPECIFIC PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 16, 2020 TO JANUARY 17, 2021, PURPOSELY TO SERVE AS A MEASURE TO REGULATE AND/OR CONTROL THE CONVERGENCE OF PEOPLE AT THE CITY PLAZA IN CONNECTION WITH THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S TRADITIONAL CELEBRATION OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON DUBBED AS "PASKUHAN 2020" AS WELL AS THE FORTHCOMING PASALAMAT FESTIVAL 2021

"A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BENIGNO AQUINO STREET FROM JUNCTION V. SAGUN STREET UP TO P.L. URRO STREET (PARTICULARLY THE PORTION FRONTING THE CITY HALL COMPLEX), FOR THE SPECIFIC PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 16, 2020 TO JANUARY 17, 2021, PURPOSELY TO SERVE AS A MEASURE TO REGULATE AND/OR CONTROL THE CONVERGENCE OF PEOPLE AT THE CITY PLAZA IN CONNECTION WITH THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S TRADITIONAL CELEBRATION OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON DUBBED AS "PASKUHAN 2020" AS WELL AS THE FORTHCOMING PASALAMAT FESTIVAL 2021" 

WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, in an effort to encourage and provide the local residents and visitors with positive vibes and atmosphere during the Christmas season despite the challenges brought about by the effects of COVID-19, has initiated the decoration of the City Plaza with Christmas lights and symbols along with the traditional giant Christmas Tree;

WHEREAS, having foreseen such undertaking will attract and entice a large number of spectators and viewers--it is thus imperatively necessary to institute preemptive measures that shall conform to the strict observance and compliance to the city's mandated health and safety protocols such that the Honorable City Mayor sought for the temporary closure of the Benigno Aquino Street from the junction of P.L. Urro Street and V. Sagun Street from December 16, 2020 up to January 17, 2021;

WHEREAS, this body, after having urgently considered the matter, deems it practical and reasonable to approve the request, hence, this passage;

NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it

RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the temporary closure of Benigno Aquino Street from junction V. Sagun Street up to P.L. Urro Street (particularly the portion fronting the City Hall Complex), for the specific period from December 16, 2020 to January 17, 2021, purposely to serve as a measure to regulate and/or control the convergence of people at the City Plaza in connection with the City Government's traditional celebration of the Christmas Season dubbed as "Paskuhan 2020" as well as the forthcoming Pasalamat Festival 2021. 

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable City Mayor and all other offices concerned for information, guidance and appropriate action.
