RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0890 (Sponsored by: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH)-CENTER FOR HEALTH DEVELOPMENT, ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA REGION, WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANT OF COVID-19 SPECIAL RISK ALLOWANCE TO PRIVATE AND PUBLIC HEALTH WORKERS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN WHO ARE CATERING TO OR IN CONTACT WITH COVID-19 PATIENTS DURING THE STATE OF NATIONAL EMERGENCY" WHEREAS, in recognition of the services and invaluable contribution of all public health workers throughout the country who are at the frontline in the national effort to address the public health emergency brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak, His Excellency, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, by virtue of the provisions of Republic Act No. 11494 or the "Bayanihan to Recover as One Act," issued Administrative Order No. 36, dated 16 November 2020, which, in gist, grants COVID-19 Special Risk Allowance to Private and Public Health Workers directly catering to or in contact with COVID-19 patients during the State of National Emergency; WHEREAS, in pursuance to the foregoing Order, the Department of Health through its DOH-Regional Office 9 has collaborated with the City Government of Pagadian for the provision of such Special Risk Allowance for the benefit of the private and public health workers in the City of Pagadian who are directly catering to or in contact with COVID-19 patients; WHEREAS, to ensure the pursuance of such endeavor, there is thus a need for the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Department of Health-Center for Health Development, Zamboanga Peninsula Region, such that authorizing the City Chief Executive to enter and represent the City Government in the formulation of such deed is most appropriate and in order; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Health (DOH)-Center for Health Development, Zamboanga Peninsula Region, with reference to the grant of COVID-19 Special Risk Allowance to Private and Public Health Workers in the City of Pagadian who are directly catering to or in contact with COVID-19 patients during the State of National Emergency. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and Regional Director Emilia P. Monicimpo, MPH, CSEE, DOH, Regional Office 9, Cortez Bldg., Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City; and all others concerned, for their information and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
