RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0875 (Sponsored by: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE GRANT OF MEAL AND TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCE AND OTHER INCIDENTAL EXPENSES ASSISTANCE TO EACH AND EVERY BARANGAY OFFICIAL AS WELL AS THE DIFFERENT BARANGAY WORKERS OF THE 54 BARANGAYS OF THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND (P2,000.00) PESOS EACH TO HELP DEFRAY ALL EXPENSES INCURRED FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE FIGHT AGAINST THE CORONA VIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19), AS FRONTLINERS AND, AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE" WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, in an effort to contain, if not prevent, the spread of COVID-19, had tapped the assistance of all barangay officials to include the different barangay workers of the 54 barangays of the city to be in the front line in the fight against such dreaded disease--which assistance have significantly contributed in the decline of the number of COVID-19 cases in the City of Pagadian; WHEREAS, in recognition of their hard work, dedication, contribution and selfless effort during these times of pandemic, the Honorable City Mayor proposed to grant the individual barangay officials and all barangay workers of the 54 barangays with meal and transportation allowance and other incidental expenses assistance in the amount of P2,000.00 each to help defray all expenses incurred while in the performance of their role as frontliners; WHEREAS, finding the proposal cogently reasonable and sensible, this body deems it prim and proper to grant the City Chief Executive's request, hence this passage; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the grant of meal and transportation allowance and other incidental expenses assistance to each and every barangay official as well as the different barangay workers of the 54 barangays of the city in the amount of Two Thousand (P2,000.00) Pesos each to help defray all expenses incurred for the entire duration of the fight against the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), as frontliners and, authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to allocate funds for the purpose. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
