RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0852 (Sponsored by: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOTr), REPRESENTED BY THE UNDERSECRETARY FOR AVIATION AND AIRPORTS, CAPT. MANUEL ANTONIO L. TAMAYO, IN RELATION TO THE RELEASE OF THE TWO HUNDRED MILLION (P200,000,000.00) PESOS ASSISTANCE FOR THE EXPANSION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE PAGADIAN CITY AIRPORT" WHEREAS, consistent with the commitment of the City Government of Pagadian to develop the Pagadian City Airport which shall conform with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices as well as with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Manual of Standards for Aerodromes, the national government through the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has allocated the amount of P200,000,000.00 out of the allotment for Right-of-Way Funds under the CY 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Pagadian Airport Development Projects; WHEREAS, to hasten the release of such funding allocation, it necessitates the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the City Government of Pagadian where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been stipulated--for which the Honorable City Mayor has sought legislative authority to enter and sign the same for and in behalf of the City Government; WHEREAS, finding importance and urgency of the request, this body, considering the projects most beneficial and advantageous to the people of Pagadian, deems it prim and proper to clothe the City Chief Executive with the necessary authority to sign the foregoing deed; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), represented by the Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports, Capt. Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, in relation to the release of the Two Hundred Million (P200,000,000.00) Pesos assistance for the expansion and development of the Pagadian City Airport. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Legal Officer; and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) through Honorable Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, DOTr-Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
