RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0850 (Sponsored by: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P300,000.00) PESOS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE TYPHOON-HIT CITIES IN LUZON, AND AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ALLOCATE AND RELEASE FUNDS OUT OF ANY AVAILABLE SOURCES OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN THROUGH THE LEAGUE OF CITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES" WHEREAS, with reference to the letter-appeal of the League of Cities of the Philippines, dated November 24, 2020, requested the member-cities to extend financial assistance to the affected cities in Luzon that were struck by a series of typhoons and have experienced flooding which caused the loss of several lives aside from enormous damage to properties, livelihood and infrastructures thereat; WHEREAS, in understanding and sympathizing with the plight of the people in those affected areas, the Honorable City Mayor seeks this body's support in extending P300,000.00 financial assistance to help them recover from their present predicament; WHEREAS, after careful perusal and evaluation of the foregoing proposition, this body deems it urgently necessary, under the circumstance, to extend whatever assistance that could be made available to help alleviate the condition of the constituents of the typhoon-hit cities in Luzon; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the extension of Three Hundred Thousand (P300,000.00) Pesos financial assistance to the typhoon-hit cities in Luzon, and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor to allocate and release funds out of any available sources of the City Government of Pagadian through the League of Cities of the Philippines. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the Honorable City Mayor, for his information and favorable consideration; the City Budget Officer; the City Accountant; the City Treasurer; and the City Auditor; the League of Cities of the Philippines through its President, City Mayor Bing Leonardia, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
