RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0795 (Sponsored by: Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang) "A RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DEPED)-PAGADIAN CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE, REPRESENTED BY CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT DANNY B. CORDOVA, EdD, RELATIVE TO THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF THE DATAGAN INTEGRATED SCHOOL SITUATED AT BARANGAY DATAGAN, THIS CITY, MORE PARTICULARLY ON THE MATTER OF ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND/OR REPAIR OF THE SCHOOL BUILDING TO INCLUDE CLASSROOMS, FURNITURE, SCIENCE EQUIPMENT TOOLS AND THE PROVISION OF LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION, SPORTS EQUIPMENT AND TEXTBOOKS IN ALL LEARNING AREAS AS WELL AS EFFECT THE TRANSFER OF THE LOT PRESENTLY UTILIZED AND OCCUPIED BY THE SAID SCHOOL IN FAVOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION THROUGH A DEED OF USUFRUCT" WHEREAS, this Sanggunian, during its 57th Regular Session held on 28 October 2020, adopted and passed Resolution No. 2020-0770 which, in gist, supported and strongly endorsed to the Department of Education-Regional Office 9 the conversion of Datagan Elementary School, situated at Barangay Datagan, this City, into Datagan Integrated School purposely to make secondary education available in the area for the benefit of those students living in the said barangay as well as the neighboring barangays; WHEREAS, to ensure the early and successful pursuance of such intention, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Department of Education (DepED) through the Pagadian City Schools Division Office, represented by City Schools Division Superintendent Danny B. Cordova, EdD, is necessary where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified--for which a legislative authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, the body, after careful perusal and evaluation and, finding importance and urgency of the foregoing request, deems it appropriate and in order to clothe the City Chief Executive with the necessary authority to sign the foregoing deed for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang, be it RESOLVED to grant, as this body hereby grants authority to the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education (DEPED)-Pagadian City Schools Division Office, represented by City Schools Division Superintendent Danny B. Cordova, EdD, relative to the establishment and operation of the Datagan Integrated School situated at barangay Datagan, this city, more particularly on the matter of allocating funds for use in the construction and/or repair of the school building to include classrooms, furniture, science equipment tools and the provision of livelihood education, sports equipment and textbooks in all learning areas as well as effect the transfer of the lot presently utilized and occupied by the said school in favor of the Department of Education through a Deed of Usufruct. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; the City Legal Officer; and Dr. Danny B. Cordova, EdD, CESO VI, City Schools Division Superintendent, Pagadian City Schools Division Office-Department of Education, all of this city, for their information and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
