"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIS HONOR, CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO, TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE PHILIPPINE CHARITY SWEEPSTAKES OFFICE (PCSO), WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANT OF THE LOTTO AND SMALL TOWN LOTTERY (STL) CHARITY FUND SHARES AS WELL AS CALAMITY ASSISTANCE UNDER ITS CALAMITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM"

WHEREAS, in recognition of the Local Government Units' role as its partners in raising revenues, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), pursuant to its mandate and consistent with the national government's programs, will be providing LGUs a portion of the charity fund generated from the sales of Lotto and STL within their respective jurisdiction as LGU share as well as calamity assistance in times of natural calamities and disasters, including those caused by outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics, under its Calamity Assistance Program-which grant shall be specifically for the use in the LGUs medical and health-related services; 

WHEREAS, to ensure the pursuance of the foregoing program and in order to facilitate the early release of such grant, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office is necessary where the duties and responsibilities of both parties have been specified--such that a legislative authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor;

WHEREAS, after careful perusal and evaluation, this body, finding the same most beneficial to further advance the city's delivery of basic health services, deems it prim and proper to clothe the Honorable City Mayor with the necessary authority to represent the City Government in the forging of the pertinent deed; 

NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it

RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), with reference to the grant of the Lotto and Small Town Lottery (STL) Charity Fund Shares as well as calamity assistance under its Calamity Assistance Program.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and favorable action; to the City Legal Officer; to Ms. Royima M. Garma, Vice Chairperson and General Manager, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, 4th Floor Sun Plaza Bldg., Princeton St., cor. Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong City; and to Ms. Pilarcita C. Florentes, OIC-Branch Manager-Zamboanga del Sur PCSO Branch Office, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
