RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0726

"A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO FAVORABLY CONSIDER THE ALLOCATION OF APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE ACQUISITION, INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL LIGHT SYSTEM ALONG THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY AT BARANGAY TIGUMA PARTICULARLY AT THE ROAD INTERSECTION GOING TO BARANGAY LENIENZA AND BARANGAY MURICAY"

WHEREAS, with the designation of Pagadian City as the Regional Center of Region IX or the Zamboanga Peninsula Region along with the city's favorable economic condition has resulted in an unprecedented increase in the population and has, in effect, increased vehicular traffic as it caused congestion in all major thoroughfares of the city;

WHEREAS, there is thus a need to institute corrective measures through the exercise of due diligence in the management of the city's traffic and road use by way of installing the proper electronic traffic signals and signs to promote safe and orderly flow of people, goods and vehicles and prevent, if not lessen, accidents involving motorists;
 
WHEREAS, for this purpose, this body, in support of the recommendation of the concerned Committee-to which the matter was initially referred-deems it appropriate and in order to recommend to the City Chief Executive to allocate funds for the acquisition, installation and operation of a traffic signal light system along the National Highway at Barangay Tiguma particularly at the road intersection going to Barangay Lenienza and Barangay Muricay;

NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Jesuseller M. Duterte, be it

RESOLVED to recommend, as this body hereby recommends to Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to favorably consider the allocation of appropriate funds for the acquisition, installation and operation of a traffic signal light system along the National Highway at Barangay Tiguma particularly at the road intersection going to Barangay Lenienza and Barangay Muricay, both of this city.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his consideration and appropriate action.
