RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0694 (Sponsored by: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DANGEROUS DRUGS BOARD (DDB) WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANT OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE MILLION (P5,000,000.00) PESOS FOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMMUNITY-BASED REHABILITATION FACILITY IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, information has it that the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) has an available allocation of Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Pesos as financial grant to Local Government Units for the construction of a community-based rehabilitation facility which can be used for the provision of skills training, livelihood programs and other forms of intervention for persons who surrendered via "tokhang" or other anti-drug abuse-related programs implemented by the Local Government Unit; WHEREAS, information further revealed that Pagadian City has been identified to be a recipient of such financial grant, and as such, a Memorandum of Agreement to be entered into by and between the City Government of Pagadian and the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) is one among the requirements for the release of such assistance, thus a legislative authority to enter into the same has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor; WHEREAS, finding urgency and importance of the foregoing concern, the body, to ensure the early and successful implementation of the foregoing project, deems it appropriate and in order to clothe the Honorable City Mayor with the necessary authority to represent the City Government in the formal forging of such deed; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) with reference to the grant of financial assistance in the amount of Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Pesos for use in the construction of a Community-Based Rehabilitation Facility in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and favorable consideration; to the City Legal Office; and to Honorable Catalino S. Cuy, Chairman--Dangerous Drugs Board, 3rd Floor, DDB-PDEA Bldg., National Government Center, NIA Road, Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City, for information, guidance and reference. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
