RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0680 (Sponsored by: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT (DBM) FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE UNDER THE DESIGN AND BUILD PROGRAM/SCHEME IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE MILLION (P575,000,000.00) PESOS, TO FINANCE THE VARIOUS IDENTIFIED INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, AS HEREIN SPECIFIED" WHEREAS, with the rapid pace of development now undertaken in the City of Pagadian which is mainly due to its designation as the Regional Center of the Zamboanga Peninsula Region alongside from being perceived to be the fastest growing economy in the entire Island of Mindanao, the necessary infrastructure development projects must necessarily be put in place so as to ensure the attainment this objective; WHEREAS, much to the keenness of the City Government to pursue the implementation of the various identified development projects purposely to address poverty, peace and security of the city as well as current challenges of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic, however, given its limited resources, the financial support from the national government is most sought; WHEREAS, given the foregoing, is it thus necessary to seek financial support from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) through its Design and Build Program/Scheme, hence, this request; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to earnestly request, as it is hereby earnestly requested the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for funding assistance under the Design and Build Program/Scheme in the total amount of Five Hundred Seventy-Five Million (P575,000,000.00) Pesos to finance the following identified infrastructure development projects of the City Government of Pagadian, to wit: Name of Project Proposed Amount Construction of Reinforce Concrete Deck Girder Bridge (RCDG) at Barangay Dampalan, Pagadian City (Over Labangan River) P 100,000,000.00 Concreting of Barangay Road (Deborok - Lison Valley) 150,000,000.00 Development of Water System (Select Barangays) 130,000,000.00 Construction of Multi-Purpose Building for Isolation Center with Health Facilities as a response for COVID-19 120,000,000.00 Construction/development of New Public Cemetery With Cremation Facility and other amenities 75,000,000.00 Grand Total P 575,000,000.00 RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Wendel E. Avinsado, Acting Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management, through Undersecretary Rogelio V. Puno, DBM, General Salano St., San Miguel, Manila, Philippines, for preferential consideration and favorable action; to Gen. Galma T. Arcilla, Ret., AFP, DBM; and to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S.
