RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0665 (Sponsored by: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION ADOPTING, FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, JOINT MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2020-04-A, SERIES OF 2020, ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY (DTI) AND THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT (DOLE), WITH REFERENCE TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL GUIDELINES ON WORKPLACE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF COVID-19 DISEASE" WHEREAS, to ensure the safety and health security of all workers in their respective workplace amid the rising cases of COVID-19 disease in the country, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) issued Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2020-04-A, s. 2020, dated 14 August 2020, which, in gist, provides for a Supplemental Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19, where it mandates all employers of hospitality and tourism sectors, manufacturing companies including frontline and economic priority employees to require their respective workers to undergo regular RT-PCR test, free of charge; WHEREAS, the foregoing public health measure will surely help contain, if not prevent, the further spread of COVID-19 disease such that there is a need for local businesses in the city to implement such mandate; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to adopt, as this body hereby adopts, for implementation in the City of Pagadian, Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2020-04-A, series 2020, issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), with reference to the Supplemental Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19 disease. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co; and to all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
