RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0639 (Sponsored by: Committee on Commerce, Trade and Industry, Economic Enterprise and Cooperatives) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO CREATE AND CONSTITUTE A TASK FORCE THAT SHALL REGULARLY CONDUCT MONITORING AND INSPECTION ON THE OPERATION OF BARBER SHOPS AND SALONS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN AS REGARDS TO THEIR COMPLIANCE WITH THE MANDATORY HEALTH STANDARDS AND PROTOCOLS IN ADDRESSING COVID-19 PURSUANT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY (DTI) MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2020-38 AS AMENDED BY DTI MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2020-44" WHEREAS, this body was furnished a copy of Unnumbered Memorandum Circular from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, dated 16 July 2020, which, in gist, directs LGUs to strictly implement DTI Memorandum Circular No. 2020-38 entitled: "Updated Guidelines on Barbershops and Salons" as amended by DTI Memorandum Circular No. 2020-44 entitled: "Prescribing the Re-Categorization of some Business Activities from Category IV to Category III, Additional Services Allowed for Barbershops and Salons, Adjustment of Operating Hours, and Amendment of the IATF Negative List;" WHEREAS, to better implement in the local level the foregoing directive, there is thus a need to create and constitute a task force who shall be at the forefront in overseeing and ensuring the full implementation of the DTI Memorandum Circular No. 2020-38 as amended by DTI Memorandum Circular No. 2020-44, hence, this request NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to create and constitute a task force that shall regularly conduct monitoring and inspection on the operation of barber shops and salons in the City of Pagadian as regards to their compliance with the mandatory health standards and protocols in addressing COVID-19 pursuant to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Memorandum Circular No. 2020-38 as amended by DTI Memorandum Circular No. 2020-44. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
