RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0601 (Sponsored by: Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP)-PAGADIAN CITY POLICE STATION, WITH REFERENCE TO THE LATTER'S UTILIZATION OF THE FLOATING ASSETS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT TO HELP STRENGTHEN THEIR CAMPAIGN AGAINST ALL FORMS OF CRIMINAL ACTS WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL WATERS OF PAGADIAN CITY TO INCLUDE ILLEGAL MINING/QUARRYING AND/OR CRUSHING/PROCESSING OPERATIONS THEREAT" WHEREAS, consistent with its thrust and mandate to prevent and suppress lawless elements--whether at land or at sea--and ensure the peace and order situation of the city, the City Government of Pagadian and the Pagadian City Police Station-Philippine National Police have agreed to concertedly pursue the implementation of the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan adopted by the Pagadian City Police Station; WHEREAS, consequently, the City Government is procuring/acquiring a floating asset, particularly motorized pump boat for use of the Pagadian City Police Station in their campaign against violations of all laws in the high seas including, but not limited to, all forms of illegal fishing as well as illegal mining/quarrying and/or crushing/processing operations within the municipal waters of Pagadian City; WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the early and successful implementation of the foregoing project, there is an urgent need to formalize such terms and conditions as well as the respective responsibilities of the concerned parties through a Memorandum of Agreement, thus, authorizing the City Chief Executive to enter and represent the City Government of Pagadian in the formulation of such deed is most appropriate at this prevailing circumstance; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian, into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine National Police (PNP)--Pagadian City Police Station, with reference to the latter's utilization of the floating assets of the City Government to help strengthen their campaign against all forms of criminal acts within the municipal waters of Pagadian City to include illegal mining/quarrying and/or crushing/processing operations thereat. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S Co; the City Legal Officer; and P/Lt. Col. Alvin P. Saguban, Chief of Police - Pagadian City Police Station, all of this city, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
