RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0535 (Movant: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY INVITING AGENT ISRAEL IVAN L. PERALTA, AGENT IN-CHARGE, NATIONAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (NBI)-ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR DISTRICT OFFICE, TO ATTEND THE 41ST REGULAR SESSION OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD ON JUNE 03, 2020 AT 9:00 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING AT THE SP SESSION HALL, LEGISLATIVE BUILDING, CITY SPORTS COMPLEX, SAN FRANCISCO DISTRICT, THIS CITY, TO APPRISE THE 13TH CITY COUNCIL ON THE PREVAILING PEACE AND ORDER CONDITION OF THE CITY IN RELATION TO THE RECENT DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR OPERATION AGAINST SMUGGLING ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN " WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod-while it recognized and acknowledged the effort and dedication of the city's police force in maintaining the peace and order situation of the city by conducting police operations against all forms of criminalities-however, it expressed concern and alarm over the reported proliferation of smuggling activities in the city as substantiated by the series of operations/raids conducted by the concerned law enforcement agencies and the eventual apprehension of the alleged perpetrators of the said illegal activities; WHEREAS, such smuggling activities, if not immediately addressed and contained, could have jeopardized the peace and order situation of the city as well as the safety and security of every individual and could even result in social and economic backlash considering that it is not paying the required duties and taxes due; WHEREAS, given this predicament, it is thus necessary for the body to be officially briefed on the prevailing peace and order condition of the City as well as the current measures being undertaken by the NBI-Zamboanga del Sur District Office to contain and resolve the above-stated problem; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to respectfully invite Agent Israel Ivan L. Peralta, Agent In-Charge, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Zamboanga del Sur District Office, to attend the 41st Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on June 03, 2020 at 9:00 o'clock in the morning at the SP Session Hall, Legislative Building, City Sports Complex, San Francisco District, this City, to apprise the 13th City Council on the prevailing peace and order condition of the city in relation to the recent development of their operation against smuggling activities in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Agent Israel Ivan L. Peralta, Agent In-Charge, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Zamboanga del Sur District Office, for his information and favorable action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
