RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0495 (Sponsored by: Committee on Commerce, Trade and Industry, Economic Enterprise and Cooperatives) "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE FOR THE PAYMENT OF LOCAL BUSINESS TAX, PERMITS AND/OR LICENSES FOR THE SECOND AND THIRD QUARTER INSTALLMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2020 AND, FOR THE PURPOSE, SHALL CONDONE SUCH PENALTIES AND OTHER CHARGES THAT WILL BE INCURRED DUE TO THE DELAYED OR LATE PAYMENT THEREOF" WHEREAS, in view of the declaration of public health emergency due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 disease, the Honorable City Mayor, through Executive Order No. 19, series 2020, placed the entire City of Pagadian under Enhanced Community Quarantine which have, in effect, brought adverse effects to the city's socio-economic state due to forced disruption of works, businesses, livelihood and the like; WHEREAS, mindful on the need to institute necessary economic-related measures to help cushion the impact of the current health crisis, the body, as an act of liberality during this time of adversity and in support of the recommendation of the concerned Committee-to which the request of the Pagadian-Zamboanga del Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Incorporated (PZCCIFI) as enunciated in its Resolution No. 2004-01, series of 2020, was referred-deems it logical, practical and reasonable to grant reprieve to the business sector by extending the deadline for the payment of such local business taxes, permits and/or licenses covering the Second and Third Quarter Installments for Fiscal Year 2020 to September 30, 2020 without incurring any penalties and/or other charges for the delayed or late payment thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to approve, as this body hereby approves the extension of the deadline for the payment of Local Business Tax, Permits and/or Licenses for the Second and Third Quarter Installments for Fiscal Year 2020 to September 30, 2020 and, for the purpose, shall condone such penalties and other charges that will be incurred due to the delayed or late payment thereof. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information; to the City Treasurer, Mrs. Nona Grace E.
