RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0438 (Sponsor: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO APPROPRIATE AND UTILIZE THE AMOUNT OF THREE MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED THREE THOUSAND (P3,703,000.00) PESOS, OUT OF THE CALAMITY FUND OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE FAMILY-VICTIMS OF THE MARCH 03, 2020 AND MARCH 14, 2020 CONFLAGRATION AT BARANGAY SANTA LUCIA AND BARANGAY BALANGASAN, BOTH OF THIS CITY" WHEREAS, by virtue of Resolution No. 2020-0437, this body declared the City of Pagadian in state of calamity in view of the destruction brought about by fire at Barangay Santa Lucia and Barangay Balangasan last March 03, 2020 and March 14, 2020; WHEREAS, official report from the City Social Welfare and Development Office disclosed that the fire destroyed a total of 304 houses, specified as follows: BARANGAY SANTA LUCIA BARANGAY BALANGASAN Category Total No. of Houses Category Total No. of Houses House Owner 245 1. Boarder 8 WHEREAS, appurtenant thereto, and in an effort to help mitigate the impact of such unfortunate incident, there is now the immediate need to provide the funding to effect the necessary relief to the affected families; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to appropriate and utilize the amount of Three Million Seven Hundred Three Thousand (P3,703,000.00) Pesos, out of the calamity fund of the City Government of Pagadian, for financial assistance to the family-victims of the March 03, 2020 and March 14, 2020 conflagration at Barangay Santa Lucia and Barangay Balangasan, both of this City, in the amount hereunder enumerated, to wit: House Owners P 10,000.00 each Renter/Sharer 5,000.00 each Boarders 3,000.00 each RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, the City Budget Officer, the City Treasurer, the City Planning & Development Coordinator, the City Engineer, the City Audit Team Head, and to the CLGOO-CDCC Executive Secretariat, for their information and appropriate action.
