RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0385 (Sponsor: Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron) "A RESOLUTION STRONGLY RECOMMENDING TO THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A PERMANENT CITY BUILDING OFFICIAL AS WELL AS APPOINT, DESIGNATE AND/OR ASSIGN ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL TO ATTEND TO THE INCREASING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAID OFFICE" WHEREAS, it has been observed that, for quite some time now, the City Government of Pagadian has no permanent City Building Official who shall, among others, be primarily responsible in the processing and approval of applications for building permit including its extension, renovation and/or repair thereof as well as the enforcement of the National Building Code of the Philippines, related local ordinances and pertinent provisions of the Accessibility Law; WHEREAS, currently, the office is headed by an Officer In-Charge with only eight (8) personnel attending to the numerous transactions of the office which is observably having a hard time coping up with the required bulk of work considering the city's progress and acceleration in housing and building development; WHEREAS, as the City of Pagadian-being the Regional Center for Western Mindanao-is steadily growing and fast developing in terms of population, land development, housing subdivision and/or building construction projects, it effectively warrants the appointment of a permanent City Building Official and the designation and/or assignment of additional personnel thereat to attend to the expanding duties and responsibilities of the said office, hence, this recommendation; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to strongly recommend, as this body hereby strongly recommends to the Honorable City Mayor the appointment of a permanent City Building Official as well as appoint, designate and/or assign additional personnel to attend to the increasing duties and responsibilities of the said office. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his consideration and appropriate action; and to Engr. Marie Sanita S.
