RESOLUTION NO. 2020-0379 (Sponsor: Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO ENTER, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR CULTURE AND THE ARTS (NCCA) WITH REFERENCE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CULTURAL MAPPING PROJECT IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" WHEREAS, the City Government of Pagadian, in pursuance to Section 16 of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, which, in gist, encourages every local government unit to ensure and support, among other things, the preservation and enrichment of culture, and in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) have agreed to concertedly pursue the conduct of local cultural mapping-a research project which is aimed to collect information and data on significant natural heritage and cultural properties in the city; WHEREAS, in order to ensure the successful conduct of the foregoing project, the formal forging of a Memorandum of Understanding by and between the City Government and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is imperatively necessary wherein the duties and responsibilities of the concerned parties have been specified, for which an authority to enter into such deed has been sought by the Honorable City Mayor-which request merited the support and concurrence of this august body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Teodoro M. Quicoy, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor, this city, to enter, for and in behalf of the City Government of Pagadian into a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) with reference to the implementation of the Cultural Mapping Project in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his information and appropriate action; the City Legal Officer; and the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), through its Chairman, Hon. Virgilio S.
