RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0301 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Good Government, Ethics and Civil Service; Committee on Laws, Rules and Policy Formulation; and Committee on Planning and Landed Estates) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CITY LEGAL OFFICER TO CONDUCT A STUDY AND REVIEW ON THE COMPLAINT LODGED BY USTADZ ISMAEL CALALAGAN, PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT (AID), AGAINST THE EXISTENCE OF A FUNERAL HOME NEAR A MOSQUE AT BARANGAY BANALE, THIS CITY, AND TO COME UP WITH A RECOMMENDATION AS REGARDS THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S POSITION ON THE MATTER" WHEREAS, the Honorable City Mayor forwarded to this august body the letter-transmittal from the Presidential Complaint Center, Office of the President, dated 05 July 2019, relative to the complaint filed by a certain Ustadz Ismael Calalagan, President of the Association for Islamic Development (AID), against the existence of a Funeral Home near a Mosque located at B.F. Arao Avenue, Barangay Banale, this City, for information and appropriate consideration; WHEREAS, the concerned Committees, to which the foregoing matter was referred for initial consideration, recommended in its Committee Report No. 111 that the same be thoroughly studied and reviewed by the City Legal Officer with reference to the possible legal implication of the case at bar and to come up with appropriate recommendation to properly apprise and guide the body in disposing the said concern, hence, requesting the City Chief Executive for the purpose is most imperative; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the City Legal Officer to conduct a study and review on the complaint lodged by Ustadz Ismael Calalagan, President of the Association for Islamic Development (AID), against the existence of a Funeral Homes near a Mosque at Barangay Banale, this City, and to come up with a recommendation as regards the City Government's position on the matter. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his preferential consideration and favorable action; to Atty. Glen Peralta, City Legal Officer, for his information and appropriate action; to Ustadz Ismael Calalagan, President, Association for Islamic Development (AID), Banale, this City; and Director Jaime L. Mabilin, Presidential Complaint Center, Office of the President, Malacanang, Manila, for their information, guidance and reference. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
