RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0272 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Human Rights and Urban/Rural Community and Committee on Planning and Landed Estates) "A RESOLUTION URGING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO FURTHER SUPPORT THE OPERATION OF THE URBAN/RURAL POOR AFFAIRS OFFICE (URPAO) BY WAY OF PROVIDING ADDITIONAL MANPOWER PURPOSELY TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND EFFICACY IN PERFORMING THEIR MANDATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES" WHEREAS, the Urban/Rural Poor Affairs Office is created with the tasks, among others, of monitoring, evaluating and developing relocation/resettlement sites of the city and to supervise, administer and oversee the orderly and efficient processing and awarding of lot to its legitimate beneficiaries WHEREAS, per observation and assessment undertaken jointly by the Committees on Human Rights and Urban/Rural Community and Committee on Planning & Landed Estates on the organization and functional set-up of the office, the minimal budget provided for its operation as well as the small workforce assigned thereto hinders its efficiency and effectiveness in pursuing its mandate thus the recommendation to, accordingly, request for additional personnel complement and other necessary tools was supported and concurred by this body; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to request, as it hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to further support the operation of the Urban/Rural Poor Affairs Office (URPAO) by way of providing additional manpower purposely to improve efficiency and efficacy in performing their mandated duties and responsibilities. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his consideration and favorable action; and the Head-Urban/Rural Poor Affairs Office, for information and follow-up. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
