RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0189 (Sponsor: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING HONORABLE CITY MAYOR SAMUEL S. CO TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS, OUT OF ANY AVAILABLE FUND SOURCES OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT, PURPOSELY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF A WELCOME ARCH/MARKER AT BOTH ENTRY POINTS OF PAGADIAN CITY PARTICULARLY THE PORTION ALONG THE BOUNDARY OF LABANGAN IN THE EAST AND THE PORTION ALONG THE BOUNDARY OF DUMALINAO IN THE WEST" WHEREAS, the City of Pagadian, pursuant to Executive Order No. 429, dated 12 October 1990 as amended by Executive Order No. 36, issued by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on 19 September 2001, was named and designated as the Regional Center of the Zamboanga Peninsula Region, and by virtue of such Order, several regional offices of Region 9 have already effected transfer from Zamboanga City to Pagadian City while others have already signified intention to transfer; WHEREAS, one way of showing the hospitability and heartfelt welcome of the people of Pagadian to all the officials and employees of the transferring regional offices as well as all visitors and guests, is the provision, construction and establishment of a welcome arch/marker at both entry point of the city-particularly the portion at the boundary of Labangan in the east, and the portion at the boundary of Dumalinao in the west, thus requesting the Honorable City Mayor to appropriate funds for the purpose is deemed in order; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co to appropriate funds, out of any available fund sources of the City Government, purposely for the establishment and construction of a welcome arch/marker at both entry points of Pagadian City particularly the portion along the boundary of Labangan in the east and the portion along the boundary of Dumalinao in the west. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this resolution be furnished Honorable City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; to the City Budget Officer; the City Accountant; the City Treasurer; and the City Auditor, for their information, guidance and/or appropriate action.
