RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0175 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation, Communications & Franchising; Committee on Laws, Rules & Policy Formulation and Committee on Police, Fire & Public Safety) "A RESOLUTION STRONGLY SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT, INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT AND INTERCONNECTION FACILITIES IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, AND INTERPOSING NO OBJECTION TO THE APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL LAND USE BY ASTRONERGY DEVELOPMENT PAGADIAN INCORPORATED, OVER A PARCEL OF LAND SITUATED AT PUROK TALONG, BARANGAY BANALE FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING AND ESTABLISHING A SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) POWER PLANT THEREAT" WHEREAS, the Astronergy Development Pagadian Incorporated, through Mr. Cesario D. Velonta, Project In-Charge, sought the intervention of the City Government to support the approval of their application for land use exemption over a parcel of land situated at Purok Talong, Barangay Banale, purposely to establish and maintain a Renewable Energy Project known as the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant; WHEREAS, the foregoing request was made in view of the fact that the area to which the proposed project is to be established and constructed is classified as Low Density Residential Zone I (R-I) pursuant to City Ordinance No. 2001-194, as amended by City Ordinance No. 2008-273, hence the need for a Special Land Use permit; WHEREAS, considering the practicality, importance and urgency of such project, the body, after taking note of the favorable recommendation of the concerned Committees to which the foregoing matter was referred for initial consideration as well as the company's precise and defined presentation of the efficacy of the said facility, deems it imperative to support the same; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to strongly support, as this body hereby strongly supports the development, installation and operation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant and Interconnection Facilities in the City of Pagadian. RESOLVED, FURTHER, to interpose no objection to the application for special land use by Astronergy Development Pagadian Incorporated, over a parcel of land situated at Purok Talong, Barangay Banale for the purpose of developing and establishing a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant thereat. RESOLVED FINALLY, to let copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the City Planning & Development Coordinator and to the Astronergy Development Pagadian Incorporated, through Mr. Cesario D.
