RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0173 (Sponsor: Committee on Ecology) "A RESOLUTION ADVISING ALL THE 54 BARANGAY GOVERNMENT UNITS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN TO FAVORABLY CONSIDER THE INCLUSION, AS ONE OF THE AGENDA, IN THEIR SCHEDULED BARANGAY ASSEMBLY THE MATTER RELATIVE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT MORE PARTICULARLY THE "NO SEGREGATION, NO COLLECTION OF WASTE" POLICY" WHEREAS, pursuant to the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), all Barangay Government Units shall conduct an annual barangay assembly during every third week of October to serve as a venue and opportunity for all barangay residents to participate in the discussion as well as proposed solution to relevant issues and concerns directly related to their respective lives, in particular, and the community, in general; WHEREAS, during the scheduled assembly where every resident of the barangay is required to attend the same can be perceived to be the most appropriate opportunity to include in the discussion the matter relative to the city government's campaign for the strict implementation of the policy on "no segregation, no collection of waste," in compliance with the mandate of Republic Act No. 9003, otherwise known as the "Solid Waste Management Act of 2000;" NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to advise, as this body hereby advises all the 54 Barangay Government Units in the City of Pagadian to favorably consider the inclusion, as one of the agenda, in their scheduled barangay assembly the matter relative to the implementation of solid waste management more particularly the "no segregation, no collection of waste" policy. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the 54 Barangay Units through their respective Barangay Chairmen for information and appropriate action; and to the Honorable City Mayor, for information and support.
