RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0168 (Sponsor: Committee on Good Government, Ethics and Civil Service) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE CONCERNED DEPARTMENT AND/OR OFFICES OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT TO IMMEDIATELY CONDUCT AN INVENTORY OF ALL CITY GOVERNMENT-OWNED BUILDINGS AND/OR LANDS UNDER CONTRACT OF LEASE WITH PRIVATE ENTITIES/INDIVIDUALS, AND TO MAKE THE NECESSARY DETERMINATION WHETHER THE SAID PROPERTIES ARE DULY COVERED BY AN INSURANCE" WHEREAS, recently, the attention of this Sanggunian has been called by the Commission on Audit's issuance of COA Circular No. 2019-005, dated 07 August 2019, which, in gist, required local government units to submit all Contracts of Lease involving government-owned buildings and/or lands by any private entities/individuals for review by the Technical Services Office, Systems and Technical Services Sector, Commission on Audit; WHEREAS, this august body-having no appropriate information regarding any city government-owned buildings and/or lands currently under contract of lease with any private entities/individuals as well as the necessary information whether such properties were covered with insurance for security and indemnity purposes-thus it is imperatively necessary to direct the concerned city government department/offices to immediately conduct an inventory of such properties and determine whether the same are under insurance coverage; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Vincenzo E. Cagampang, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the concerned department and/or offices of the city government to immediately conduct an inventory of all city government-owned buildings and/or lands under contract of lease with private entities/individuals, and to make the necessary determination whether the said properties are duly covered by an insurance. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his consideration and favorable action. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
