RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0165 (Co-Sponsors: Committee on Commerce, Trade & Industry & Economic Enterprise & Cooperatives; Committee on Labor & Industrial Relations and Committee on Police, Fire and Public Safety) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO DIRECT THE MANAGER OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OFFICE (PESO), OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR, TO PREPARE AND MAINTAIN A DATA BANK OR DIRECTORY OF AVAILABLE PROFESSIONAL, TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL WORKERS/EMPLOYEES IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, PURPOSELY TO ASSIST THE LOCAL BUSINESS SECTORS IN THE EMPLOYMENT/SERVICE REQUIREMENT OF THEIR RESPECTIVE ESTABLISHMENTS AND/OR COMPANIES" WHEREAS, with the city's current favorable business atmosphere due to its vibrant economic condition, it is therefore not far-fetched to say that capitalists, both local and foreign, will now be coming in and will be investing in the city, which will generate more job opportunities for the benefit of the city's workforce, both skilled and non-skilled; WHEREAS, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), under the Office of the City Mayor, was created by virtue of City Ordinance No. 2011-320, not only to serve as referral and information center for the different employment opportunities in the city but also carry out skills and enhancement training in harmonization with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for all job seekers; WHEREAS, in view of this recent development, there is an imperative need for the City Government to have an inventory of local workers in the city to guide all existing and incoming business entities and/or companies of the readily available local workforce in relation to their company's requirement, hence requesting the City Chief Executive to commission the concerned office for the purpose is most appropriate at this prevailing circumstance; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to direct the Manager of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Office of the City Mayor, to prepare and maintain a data bank or directory of available professional, technical and vocational workers/employees in the City of Pagadian, purposely to assist the local business sectors in the employment/service requirement of their respective establishments and/or companies. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let a copy of this Resolution be furnished His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his consideration and favorable action; and to the Manager, Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Office of the City Mayor, for information, guidance and/or appropriate action..
