RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0105 (Sponsor: Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development) "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO FAVORABLY CONSIDER THE APPOINTMENT, DESIGNATION OR ASSIGNMENT OF COMPETENT PERSONNEL THAT WILL BE TASKED TO MANAGE AND OPERATE THE CITY PUBLIC CEMETERY AT BARANGAY TUBURAN, THIS CITY, AND CORRESPONDINGLY, CREATE, CONSTITUTE AND ORGANIZE THE CITY PUBLIC CEMETERY MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE THAT SHALL EXERCISE AN OVERSIGHT FUNCTION OVER THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF THE SAID FACILITY WHICH SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMPOSITION AS HEREIN SPECIFIED" WHEREAS, concern over the prevailing problem on the increasingly disorganized and lamentable state of the city public cemetery which is, observably, due to an overly congested facility where even the entry to and exit thereat has become very difficult and tough cannot be understated; WHEREAS, such predicament is aggravated by the perceived lack of competent personnel assigned thereat as well as an oversight committee that shall be responsible to look into the operation and management of the city public cemetery and institute appropriate corrective measures to improve, arrange and decongest the said facility; WHEREAS, to remedy the appalling situation, the body, in support of the recommendation of the Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development, to which the foregoing concern was initially referred, finds it urgently necessary to request the City Chief Executive to appoint and assign competent personnel as well as create the City Public Cemetery Management Oversight Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to request, as this body hereby requests the Honorable City Mayor to favorably consider the appointment, designation or assignment of competent personnel that will be tasked to manage and operate the City Public Cemetery at Barangay Tuburan, this City. RESOLVED FURTHER, to create, constitute and organize the City Public Cemetery Management Oversight Committee that shall exercise an oversight function over the management and operation of the said facility with the following composition, namely: the City Administrator; City Environment and Natural Resources Officer; the City Economic Enterprise Officer; the City Engineer; the City Health Officer; SP Member-Chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure, Public Bidding and Community Development; and the Punong Barangay of Barangay Tuburan. RESOLVED, FINALLY, to let copies of this Resolution be transmitted to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, for his immediate favorable consideration; and to all other offices concerned, for their information, guidance and reference. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
