RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0102 (Sponsor: Committee on Ways and Means) "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR TO OPEN, ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN, FOR THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF PAGADIAN, A SEPARATE ACCOUNT WITH THE VETERANS BANK-PAGADIAN BRANCH PURPOSELY FOR OTHER INCOME AND/OR FUNDS DERIVED FROM THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT, PROVIDED THAT IT WILL NOT PREJUDICE THE CITY GOVERNMENT'S EXISTING ACCOUNT WITH THE OTHER DEPOSITORY BANKS" WHEREAS, Mr. Roberto F. De Ocampo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Veterans Bank and a former Secretary of Finance, by way of a letter addressed to the Honorable City Mayor, offered their bank's services to be one of the City Government's depository bank; WHEREAS, pursuant to Department of Finance Circular No. 01-2017, Veterans Bank is now authorized as government depository bank; WHEREAS, this body, with the recommendation of the Committee on Ways and means to which the foregoing information was referred, deems the proposition practical and necessary as long as it will not prejudice the city's existing account with other depository bank, hence this authority; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Troy B. Asugas, be it RESOLVED to authorize, as this body hereby authorizes the Honorable City Mayor to open, establish and maintain, for the City Government of Pagadian, a separate account with the Veterans Bank-Pagadian Branch, purposely for other income and/or funds derived from the national government, provided that it will not prejudice the City Government's existing account with the other depository banks. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this resolution be forwarded to His Honor, City Mayor Samuel S. Co, and all other concerned offices, for information, reference and guidance. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
