RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0037 (Sponsor: Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia) "A RESOLUTION STRONGLY ENDORSING TO THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH)-REGIONAL OFFICE 9, THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A PERMANENT EVACUATION CENTER AT BARANGAY SAN FRANCISCO, THIS CITY" WHEREAS, the national government, consistent with its thrust and mandate to institute measures to mitigate, if not prevent, injury or damage during occurrence of natural and man-made calamities, intends to provide and establish permanent evacuation centers per region nationwide; WHEREAS, the City of Pagadian is privileged to be chosen as one among the recipients of such infrastructure project from the Department of Public Works and Highways in the amount of Thirty Six Million (P36,000,000.00) Pesos, for which the City Government, if only to underscore its keenness to be the host of such facility, has delineated and allocated a City Government-owned lot containing an area of 3,000 square meters at the Pagadian City Sports Complex, San Francisco District, this City, for the purpose; WHEREAS, in order to hasten the pursuance of the same, there is thus a necessity for this august body to strongly endorse the foregoing project to the Department of Public Works and Highways through the Regional Director, hence this passage; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Arnold R. Gavenia, be it RESOLVED to strongly endorse, as this body hereby strongly endorses to the Regional Director of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Regional Office 9 the proposed construction and establishment of a permanent Evacuation Center at Barangay San Francisco, this City. RESOLVED FURTHER, to let copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Department of Department of Public Works and Highways, through the DPWH Regional Director, for information and appropriate action; and to City Mayor Samuel S.
