RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0023 (Sponsor: Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co) "A RESOLUTION JOINTLY REFERRING TO THE COMMITTEE ON COMMERCE, TRADE AND INDUSTRY AND ECONOMIC ENTERPRISE & COOPERATIVES AND COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS THE MATTER CONCERNING THE CITY'S GRANT OF TAX INCENTIVES AND/OR TAX HOLIDAYS FOR ALL INVESTORS AND, FOR THE SAID COMMITTEE TO REVISIT AND REVIEW EXISTING ORDINANCES AND/OR RESOLUTIONS RELATIVE THERETO" WHEREAS, the grant of tax incentives and/or tax holidays practiced by Local Government Units is just but a common policy to invite and/or attract both local and foreign investors; WHEREAS, it is just but essential that this 13th City Council, as a brand new start, through the appropriate committees, conduct its own study and scrutiny of the existing Policies and Guidelines relative thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Sam Tyra F. Co, be it RESOLVED to jointly refer, as this body hereby jointly refers the matter concerning the city's grant of tax incentives and/or tax holidays for all investors and, for the said Committees to revisit and review existing ordinances and/or resolutions relative thereto.
