RESOLUTION NO. 2019-0012 (Sponsor: Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron) "A RESOLUTION JOINTLY REFERRING TO THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC UTILITIES, TRANSPORTATION, COMMUNICATIONS AND FRANCHISING AND COMMITTEE ON LAWS, RULES & POLICY FORMULATION THE CONCERN ON THE NEED TO STUDY AND REVIEW THE OPERATION OF BUS AND JITNEY TERMINALS WITHIN THE CITY PROPER VIS-A-VIS THE POSSIBLE ESTABLISHMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF INTEGRATED BUS AND JEEPNEY TERMINALS IN THE WESTERN AND EASTERN PORTION OF THE CITY" WHEREAS, the recurring problem on the worsening traffic condition in some parts of the city's business district which, per observation, is attributable to the continued operation of bus and jitney terminals cannot be understated; WHEREAS, this body, in an effort to address the foregoing situation, deems it proper to commission appropriate Committees of this Sanggunian to conduct thorough study and review of their operation and, if found to be unfeasible and impractical, make the necessary recommendation for the establishment and construction of an integrated bus and jitney terminal in the western and eastern portion of the city where they can be transferred and accommodated; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Fernando Y. Pameron, be it RESOLVED to jointly refer, as this body hereby jointly refers to the Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation, Communications and Franchising and Committee on Laws, Rules & Policy Formulation the concern on the need to study and review the operation of bus and jitney terminals within the city proper vis-a-vis the possible establishment and construction of integrated bus and jitney terminals in the western and eastern portion of the city.
