"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF MOTORIZED TRICYCLES FOR-HIRE ALLOWED TO OPERATE WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF PAGADIAN CITY FROM THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED (3,500) UNITS TO FOUR THOUSAND (4,000) UNITS AND, THEREBY, AMENDING CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2022-516"
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Ordinance No. 2022-516, the number of motorized tricycles for-hire operating in the City of Pagadian has been increased from 2,850 units to 3,500 units to, at least, meet the growing demand among the public transport sector as well as the commuting public;
WHEREAS, after careful perusal and evaluation, it was found out that Pagadian City is still confronted with the problem of inadequate public transportation due to the continued influx of people in consideration of the city's vibrant economic condition as well as the present administration's robust effort to invite and attract large-scale investors;
WHEREAS, given such predicament, it is thus necessary to increase the number of motorized tricycles for-hire in the city for the interest and general welfare of the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (13th City Council) of Pagadian City, in session assembled, that:
Section 1. - There shall be an increase in the number of motorized tricycles for-hire allowed to operate within the jurisdiction of Pagadian City from Three Thousand Five Hundred (3,500) units to Four Thousand (4,000) units.
Section 2. - City Ordinance No. 2019-432, entitled: "An Ordinance Providing For An Increase In The Number Of Motorized Tricycles For-Hire Allowed To Operate Within The Jurisdiction Of Pagadian City From Two Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty (2,850) Units To Three Thousand Five Hundred (3,500) Units And, Thereby, Amending Section 153, Article 6 Of City Ordinance No. 2018-400, Entitled: "An Ordinance Providing For The Road Network And Transportation Management Code Of Pagadian City," is hereby amended.
Section 3. Repealing Clause. All provisions or any part of any Ordinance inconsistent with this Ordinance shall be deemed amended, modified or repealed accordingly.
Section 4. Effectivity Clause. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
