Co "AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE CAVERN AT BARANGAY DATAGAN, THIS CITY, AS PAGADIAN KENDIS CAVE AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P100,000.00) PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND INSTALLATION OF MARKERS" WHEREAS, it is hereby declared policy of the City of Pagadian to conserve, protect and manage its caves and cave resources as part of its natural wealth pursuant to Republic Act No. 9072 otherwise known as "An Act to Manage and Protect Caves and Cave Resources and for Other Purpose;" WHEREAS, the City Government further aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange of information between governmental authorities and people who utilize caves and cave resources for scientific education, recreational, tourism and other purposes; WHEREAS, the protection of the wildlife and its habitat is the City's highest priority as it recognizes the importance of environmental protection and protection in holistic progress and welfare; NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered by the powers vested in the Sangguniang Panlungsod under Section 13, Book I of the R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991; Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session Assembled that: SECTION 1. - The cavern situated at Barangay Datagan, this City, shall henceforth be named and officially referred to as the "Pagadian Kendis Cave." SECTION 2. - For this purpose, the Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian is hereby mandated to duly inform and provide the Office the President through the Executive Secretary, the National Historical Institute and the Philippine Postal Corporation, among others, with copies of this Ordinance for their information and reference. SECTION 3. - There shall be allocated the sum of One Hundred Thousand (P100,000.00) Pesos from appropriate sources in the General Fund for purposes of construction, establishing and installing of markers.
