Co "AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE WATERFALLS AT BARANGAY ALEGRIA, THIS CITY, AS PAGADIAN ALEGRIA FALLS AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P100,000.00) PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND INSTALLATION OF MARKERS" WHEREAS, the policy of the City Government of Pagadian is to protect and preserve its natural heritage sites, particularly its water resources upon regarding their economic, cultural and historical importance; WHEREAS, at present, there are several waterfalls in the City of Pagadian whose locations are still not yet familiar to visitors even by the local residents; WHEREAS, the act of officially naming the waterfalls located at Barangay Alegria will serve as a guiding mechanism for its rightful use and enjoyment, consistent with the principles of sustainable development and the right of the people to a balanced and healthful ecology; NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered by the powers vested in the Sangguniang Panlungsod under Section 13, Book I of the R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991; Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session Assembled that: SECTION 1. - The Waterfalls situated at Barangay Alegria, this City, shall henceforth be named and officially referred to as the "Pagadian Alegria Falls;" SECTION 2. - For this purpose, the Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian is hereby mandated to duly inform and provide the Office the President through the Executive Secretary, the National Historical Institute and the Philippine Postal Corporation, among others, with copies of this Ordinance for their information and reference. SECTION 3. - There shall be allocated the sum of One Hundred Thousand (P100,000.00) Pesos from appropriate sources in the General Fund for purposes of construction, establishing and installing of markers.
