"AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE WOODLAND AND WATERFALLS AT BARANGAY MANGA, THIS CITY, AS PAGADIAN FOREST PARK AND MANGA FALLS, RESPECTIVELY, AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P100,000.00) PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND INSTALLATION OF MARKERS"

	WHEREAS, the state mandates that the Local Government Units shall ensure the sustainable use, development, management, protection, and conservation of the country's environment and natural resources as well as cultural heritage for the enjoyment of the present and future generations;

	WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City Government of Pagadian to establish, protect and preserve its natural environment pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 5272 which mandates LGUs to establish, develop and maintain a permanent forest, tree parks or watersheds within public land;

	WHEREAS, the act of officially naming the woodland located at Barangay Manga will serve as a guiding mechanism for its rightful use and enjoyment, consistent with the principles of sustainable development and the right of the people to a balanced and healthful ecology;

	NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered by the powers vested in the Sangguniang Panlungsod under Section 13, Book I of the R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991;

Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session Assembled that:

SECTION 1. - The Woodland situated at Barangay Mange, this City, shall henceforth be named and officially referred to as the "Pagadian Forest Park;"

SECTION 2. - The Waterfalls located at the heart of the newly named "Pagadian Forest Park" shall be named and described as the "Manga Falls;"

SECTION 3. - For this purpose, the Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian is hereby mandated to duly inform and provide the Office the President through the Executive Secretary, the National Historical Institute and the Philippine Postal Corporation, among others, with copies of this Ordinance for their information and reference.

SECTION 3. - There shall be allocated the sum of One Hundred Thousand (P100,000.00) Pesos from appropriate sources in the General Fund for purposes of construction, establishing and installing of markers.
