Co "AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE HIGH TERRAIN CIRCULAR AND/OR SPHERE-SHAPED AREA AT BARANGAY DAO, THIS CITY, AS PAGADIAN ROTUNDA HILLS AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P100,000.00) PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND INSTALLATION OF MARKERS" WHEREAS, Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, empowers the Sangguniang Panlungsod to name or may change the name, in consultation with the National Historical Institute of the Philippines, city roads, avenues, boulevards, thoroughfares and bridges as well as all other public places or buildings owned by the City Government, among others, within its territorial jurisdiction; WHEREAS, as envisioned by former renowned and distinguished political leaders of the City that Pagadian City will become the fast growing economy in the region, the City Government of Pagadian, in anticipation of its rapid progress and development, had constructed and established an alternate road known as the B.F. Arao Avenue linking the City's eastern point of entry to the western point of entry traversing a circular and/or rotund area situated in Barangay Dao; WHEREAS, aware that such circular or sphere-shaped area has served as one of the most prominent landmarks of the City and, in view of the City Government's desire and intention to protect and preserve all public infrastructure facilities with tourism, historical and cultural importance, hence, it is high time to provide for an official name of such tourist attraction site as a measure to help the City's tourism campaign or promotion; NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered by the powers vested in the Sangguniang Panlungsod under Section 13, Book I of the R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991; Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (13th City Council) in Session Assembled that: SECTION 1. - The high terrain circular and/or sphere-shaped area at Barangay Dao, this City, shall henceforth be named and officially referred to as the "Pagadian Rotunda Hills;" SECTION 2. - For this purpose, the Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian is hereby mandated to duly inform and provide the Office the President through the Executive Secretary, the National Historical Institute of the Philippines and the Philippine Postal Corporation, among others, with copies of this Ordinance for their information and reference. SECTION 3. - There shall be allocated the sum of One Hundred Thousand (P100,000.00) Pesos from appropriate sources in the General Fund for purposes of construction, establishing and installing of markers.
