"AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING THE PROMENADE AT BARANGAYS SAN PEDRO AND SANTIAGO, THIS CITY, AS PAGADIAN BAYWALK AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (P100,000.00) PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND INSTALLATION OF MARKERS"

	WHEREAS, it is widely acknowledged that tourism can serve as the primary engine of growth for the local economy and become the focal point of related projects and initiatives;

	WHEREAS, consistent with its thrust and mandate, it is the declared policy of the City Government of Pagadian to ensure the protection and preservation of the City's vital infrastructure, installations, natural resources, tourism-related attractions, tradition, culture, historical treasures and the like, which greatly contributed in furtherance of promoting and improving the City's favorable economic condition;

	WHEREAS, the institutionalization of the names of tourist sites paves the way for the realization of our City's aspiration to become the destination of tourists who love to travel within and outside of the Philippines;

	NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered by the powers vested in the Sangguniang Panlungsod under Section 13, Book I of the R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991;

Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in Session Assembled that:

SECTION 1. - The promenade at Barangays San Pedro and Santiago, both of this city, shall henceforth be named and officially referred to as the "Pagadian Baywalk".

SECTION 2. - For this purpose, the Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian is hereby mandated to duly inform and provide the Office the President through the Executive Secretary, the National Historical Institute of the Philippines and the Philippine Postal Corporation, among others, with copies of this Ordinance for their information and reference.

SECTION 3. - There shall be allocated the sum of One Hundred Thousand (P100,000.00) Pesos from appropriate sources in the General Fund purposely for the construction, establishment and installation of markers.
ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (13th City Council) during its 57th Regular Session on 28 October 2020 at the SP Session Hall, 4th Floor City Commercial Center (C3), Santiago District, Pagadian City.
