ORDINANCE NO: 2017-384 Sponsored by: Committee on Education, Science & Technology & Accreditation of NGOs and POS "AN ORDINANCE RENAMING MACASING NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO FRANCISCO P. CONSOLACION NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL" WHEREAS, the Barangay Council of Macasing, in consideration of the benevolent contribution of the late City Mayor Francisco P. Consolacion to Barangay Macasing particularly the donation of the parcel of land presently used/utilized as site of the Macasing National High School, by virtue of Resolution No. 07, series of 2017, endorsed and supported the request of the General Parents Teachers Association (GPTA) to change the name of Macasing National High School to Francisco P. Consolacion National High School. WHEREAS, the Sanggunian of component cities and municipalities may, in consultation with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, change the name of streets, roads, schools, health facilities or any other public place or building within its territorial jurisdiction as provided for under Sec. 13 of the Local Government Code. WHEREAS, similarly Section 99 (d) of Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 authorizes the Local Sanggunian to change the name of schools through an ordinance, upon the recommendation of the Local School Board; WHEREAS, In adopting this Ordinance a prior consultation with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines was made and a recommendation from the Local School Board as enunciated under City School Board Resolution No. 9, s. 2017; NOW, THEREFORE, on seconded motion of Honorable Mendato B. Marcaban, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City in session assembled that: SECTION 1.- That Macasing National High School shall be named as Francisco P. Consolacion National High school; SECTION 2.- That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the 12th City Council of Pagadian City during its 54th Regular Session held on 14 September 2017 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, Pagadian City.
