ORDINANCE NO: 2010-310 (Co-Authors: Honorable Estrella D. Arao & Hon. Ricardo S. Alajeno) "AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING THE BARANGAYS OF BUENAVISTA, BALINTAWAK AND TAWAGAN SUR FROM RURAL TO URBAN THEREBY FORMING PART OF THE URBAN CORE OF THE CITY OF PAGADIAN" Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (9th City Council) of the City of Pagadian in session assembled, that: SECTION 1. Basis of Enactment. - This Ordinance is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 and City Ordinance No. 2001-194, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of 2001 of the City of Pagadian. SECTION 2. Purposes. - This Ordinance is enacted for purposes of: a) Enhancing the growth and development of the Barangay Buenavista, Balintawak and Tawagan Sur which shall therefore contribute to the development of the City; b) Pursuing the protection and preservation of ecological balance in these specified areas starting at the barangay government level; c) Preventing undue concentration of population and human activities; and d) Pursuing the implementation of the general and urban land use plan, strategies and development policies of the city as enunciated under City Ordinance No. 2001-194. SECTION 3. Coverage. - This reclassification ordinance shall cover exclusively the Barangays of Buenavista, Balintawak, and Tawagan Sur, which shall thereafter become part of the Urban Core of the City of Pagadian. SECTION 4. Application. - All provisions, rules and regulations applicable for the effective and efficient implementation of this ordinance shall be applied in accordance with and on the basis of the pertinent provisions, rules and regulations of City Ordinance No. 2001-194. SECTION 5. Effectivity. - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
