ORDINANCE NO: 2005-244 "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE NAMING OF SEVEN (7) BARANGAY STREETS IN BARANGAY BALANGASAN IN HONOR OF THE LATE DOROTEO CANONEO, MARCIAL DELMONTE, SR., MANUEL ALMEDA, BENJAMIN ANDRADA, TIBURCIO BALLESTEROS, SR., GREGORIO LLUCH AND PANTALEON ZUASOLA" WHEREAS, the Barangay Council of Barangay Balangasan, this City, by virtue of Barangay Resolution No. 2005-244-14, series of 2004, had requested this august body to facilitate by way of an enabling act the naming seven (7) barangay roads in that barangay which have no street names up to this time; WHEREAS, it is also the desire of the Barangay Council of Barangay Balangasan that the referred barangay roads be accordingly named in honor of demised prominent residents of the barangay who had served that barangay in various capacities and whose servitude had note worthily contributed to the development and upliftment of the barangay; WHEREAS, it is only fitting that the particular aspiration of the Barangay Government of Balangasan and its inhabitants be given due course to enable them to continue and to sustain their socio economic gains, growth and development; WHEREFORE, be it ordained, as it is hereby ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (8th City Council) of the City of Pagadian, that: SECTION 1. ( There shall be named the seven (7) unnamed barangay streets in Barangay Balangasan, this City, after and in honor of demised prominent residents of the said barangay; namely: Doroteo Canoneo, Marcial Delmonte, Sr., Manuel Almeda, Benjamin Andrada, Tiburcio Ballesteros, Sr., Gregorio Lluch and Pantaleon Zuasola. SECTION 2. ( The Barangay Government of Balangasan, after its determination, shall identify and designate the particular streets which shall appropriately be named after the aforementioned personalities, and accordingly thereafter shall furnish the Philippine Historical Commission, the Philippine Postal Corporation, the City Planning and Development Office, this City; and this Sanggunian copies of its road network highlighting therein the referred barangay streets duly named after the passage of this act for their information and guidance. SECTION 3. ( This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (8th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 42nd Regular Session held on May 24, 2005 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
