ORDINANCE NO: 2003-226 "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EXTENSION IN THE GRANT OF AMNESTY TO ALL REAL PROPERTY TAXPAYERS IN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN, AS PREVIOUSLY MANDATED IN CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2003-226, UNTIL JUNE 30, 2004" WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 2003-226, entitled: "An Ordinance Providing for the Grant of Amnesty to All Real Property Taxpayer in the City of Pagadian on the Payment of the Interests, Penalties and Surcharges Incurred from Delinquent Tax Dues/Accounts, and Prescribing the Conditions and the Period of Availment Thereof" was actually implemented but with limited success considering that there were real property owning sectors who, on account of seasonal crop harvest/production-their main and/or only source of income-were not able to meet the deadline; WHEREAS, it is now left to the judgment of this Sangguniang Panlungsod to consider this predicament by exercising the Council's special powers into it vested under Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, for the relief and convenience of the affected taxpayers; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained, as it is hereby ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City in session assembled that: Section 1. That an extension in the grant of amnesty to all Real Property Taxpayers in the City of Pagadian, as previously mandated in City Ordinance No. 2003-205, shall be extended until June 30, 2004. Section 2. That for purposes of reference, the basis for the implementation of this measure shall be the substance of City Ordinance No. 2002-205 and will not cover the real property taxes and all other charges/surcharges for CY-2003. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its approval and publication. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (7th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 92nd Regular Session held on July 30, 2003 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
