ORDINANCE NO: 2003-221 "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2, PARAGRAPH 'H' AND SECTION 5 OF CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2003-221, ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL, PRESCRIBING ITS DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES" BE IT ENACTED BY THE 7TH CITY COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN CITY, IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 2, paragraph "h" of City Ordinance No. 2001-195 is hereby amended by deleting therein the paragraph: "Pending inclusion of the foregoing organizational set up in the personnel schedule of subsequent budget and in order that the Office of the Building Official shall immediately be operational, the Chief of the Building Industrial Safety and Inspection Division of the City Engineer's Office shall act as OIC with all Engineers and other personnel working under the present force of the Ex-Officio Building Official constituting as initial operating staff and personnel thereof;" SECTION 2. Section 5 of the same Ordinance is hereby likewise amended and shall hereafter be read as: "Section 5. STATUS OF EXISTING FUNDS UNDER THE CURRENT BUDGET. The budgetary appropriation for current year pertaining to the functions of the Ex-Officio Building Official, and his operating personnel shall be transferred to the account, management and administration of the New Office of Building Official. In effect, upon the effectivity of this Ordinance, the Building Industrial, Safety and Inspection Division in the Office of the City Engineer shall be deemed abolished, and all its employees and/or personnel maybe considered for re-employment within the approved plantilla of positions of the Office of the Building Official subject to the review and/or screening as may be conducted by the City Promotion and Selection Board in accordance with the existing Civil Service laws and regulations and the budget alloted thereto as reflected in the approved Local Budget Preparation Form Nos. 152 and 153, CY 2003 shall subsequently be the initial operating expenditures of the said office." SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
