ORDINANCE NO: 2002-204 "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2002-204 PARTICULARLY SECTIONS 6, 7 & 8" WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 2002-204 "An Ordinance Establishing the Policies and Guidelines in Providing Financial Assistance for Scholarship Grants to Physically Handicapped Students in the City of Pagadian", was adopted at the time goods and services were still too cheap; WHEREAS, the spiraling cost of basic commodities nowadays has rendered some provisions of the said ordinance as no longer effective; NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered, Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled that: SECTION 1. The following amendments are hereby affected in City Ordinance No. 1994-126, to wit: "SECTION 6. In the extension of Scholarship grants the following privileges shall be enjoyed by the qualified applicants-grantees aside from all other privileges already extended to them under R.A. 7277. Tuition and Other Fees Textbook Allowance Transportation Allowance of P150.00 per month SECTION 7. All qualified applicant-grantees shall maintain at least an average of Eighty-Two (82%) Percent and shall no failing grades at the end of every semester. However, for reasons of morally, false representation, or failing health, the City Government reserves the right and privilege to cancel or terminate any scholarship benefit accorded any applicant-grantee, if verified and proven by competent authority after proper investigation. SECTION 8. There shall be provided in the City's Executive Budget an annual appropriation of Two Hundred Thousand (P200,000.00) Pesos from the General Fund for the purpose." SECTION 2. The above-amendment shall become effective immediately after its approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (7th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 31st Regular Session held on March 13, 2002 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
