ORDINANCE NO: 2000-184 "AN ORDINANCE RENAMING BALOYBOAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO JESUS ABSIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL" WHEREAS, the Barangay Council of Baloyboan together with the heirs of Jesus Absin passed Resolution No. 28, s. of 1999, to the City School Board requesting for a favorable recommendation that Baloyboan Elementary School be named as Jesus Absin Elementary School; WHEREAS, the late Jesus Absin, donated the lot where the school is now situated making it possible for the barangay to build a learning institution to educate the children in Barangay Baloyboan; WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides for the power of the Sanggunian in component Cities and Municipalities to change the name of Public Elementary Schools for justifiable reasons and upon the recommendation of the Local School Board concern; WHEREAS, said resolution was favorably recommended by City School Board through Resolution No. 02, s. of 2000; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City in session assembled that: Section 1. - That Baloyboan Elementary School shall be renamed as Jesus Absin Elementary School. Section 2. - That this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (6th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 101st Regular Session held on July 26, 2000 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
